Courtney N Mattox was born in February 1886 in IN. He was the son of
Dr. William R. Mattox and
Zora V. Stewart. Courtney N Mattox died on 19 September 1966 in Newton, MA, at age 80; W. Courtney Mattox, 80, a former reporter for the Terre Haute Tribune died Monday in Newton, Mass. He was a retired vice president and sales manager of Barta Press in Cambridge, Mass., and widely known newspapers. Among the survivors is a nephew, Dr. Don Mattox of Terre Haute.
Mattox retired in 1956. He was born in Terre Haute, and was graduated from Indiana University in 1907. He was also a reporter on the New York World and the Little Rock, Ark., Gazette, telegraph editor on the Indianapolis Star and night city editor on the Detroit News.
He is survived by his wife Carolina; a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Priddy of Osaka, Japan, and a son, Robert C. Mattox of Wellesley, Mass.
